This house is finally ours. After a long journey, we’re still a little stunned to be calling this place home, but it already feels like it was meant to be. Today I’m sharing a first look, and I’ll be showing more in the days and months ahead. There’s so much I want to tell you and so many corners to reveal.

This place is special. Several times each day we pause and say out loud, “I can’t believe this is our home,” and we feel tears of gratitude well up. It feels like a dream come true — waking up and realizing it’s really real. That feeling means so much to us.
I discovered this area near the San Juan Islands years ago and have been saving listings here for a “someday” when we might become empty nesters. I track homes everywhere, imagining where we might end up, and this area was often on my list.
Over the years we made offers on other homes and weren’t always successful. The market has been challenging — limited inventory, prices in the areas we liked, and the impacts of 2020 on our business all made finding the right house feel unlikely at times. I’m a hopeful dreamer, but there were moments when I wasn’t feeling optimistic.
Yet here we are. Dreams have unfolded in ways I never imagined.
