Spring Entryway Refresh and a Short Story About a Light Switch

Entry Sources

Can you believe it’s finally April?

This week a bright ray of sunshine poured into our small entryway. After a long winter, I almost forgot how much light can transform a space. It surprised me and instantly lifted my mood.

I don’t mind winter, but the thought of stepping outside in a sweater instead of a heavy coat and hat feels absolutely wonderful.

I just noticed our mirror is crooked — real life! Behind that mirror, awkwardly placed in the middle of the wall, is a light switch. To reach the porch light we have to swing the mirror aside and fish our hand behind it. Sometimes we remember to straighten the mirror afterward; often we don’t.

I asked to have the switch moved during our renovation, but it wasn’t possible or it was more complicated than expected. So for now the mirror stays as a cover-up solution.

That means dealing with a crooked mirror from time to time. Anyone else living with an inconveniently placed light switch?

Wishing you a blessed Easter!
