A few well-chosen accessories can completely change the feel of a room.
When I shop, I prefer timeless pieces that will work with my style for years. Choosing versatile items makes rearranging and seasonal updates much easier. The best finds are those that look right no matter the season.
Two of my favorite, simple decorating swaps are pillow covers and decorative vessels. Both look beautiful on their own and also adapt well when filled with seasonal flowers or greenery.

Here are a few examples from my home:

This rattan footed basket is perfect for plants or seasonal flowers, but it also makes a striking textural statement even when left empty.

This vase adds a bit of height where needed and fits nicely on a shallow mantel without overwhelming the space.

I have a larger vase that’s versatile and looks great wherever I place it—on a console, a side table, or as a floor accent.

I love these linen-like blue pillow covers (they come in a set of two). They feel fresh for spring and summer but are subtle enough to use year-round—beautiful fabric and trim.

Our brass door knocker has a small basket that’s perfect for a few seasonal accents, adding charm to the entryway.

These cane boxes under our entry table work in almost every room. I use them on accent tables or stacked on books; they function as storage or as a place to showcase small collectibles.
A large bowl on a table looks pretty even empty, but it’s easy to refresh by filling it with fruit, greenery, or seasonal blooms.
Overall, the pieces feel classic and mix well with what we already own. They’re versatile, low-fuss items that help me refresh rooms without a complete overhaul.
