Seasonal Holiday Ideas
HOwning a blog is a lot like owning a home: it benefits from regular tidying, organization and the occasional closet clean-out. After more than five years of posting regularly, I’ve realized this site contains a lot of useful content that can be difficult to locate. To make navigation easier, my daughter and assistant, Kylee, has been assembling a new set of project galleries to help group related posts and ideas.
They look great and make finding inspiration so much simpler.
A project gallery is a page of thumbnail images that brings together posts on a particular topic. When you hover over a thumbnail on the live gallery it reveals a short description and you can click through to the post if it’s what you’re looking for. If not, you can scan the other thumbnails in the same gallery until you find the right idea.
To begin, we created a Seasonal & Holiday Gallery page that features several subsections on one page: Fall, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and Winter. Over time we’ll add more posts and galleries — and expand to other types of galleries as well. We’re excited about the improvements and the way they simplify browsing for seasonal projects and decorating ideas.
You can view the first Seasonal & Holiday Gallery on the site, or find it via the sidebar link. As we continue organizing the archives, I’ll share more tips for locating specific content and getting the most out of the galleries. For now, enjoy exploring the new collections and find inspiration for your next seasonal project.
To friends on the East Coast: I’m thinking of you during these rough storms and sending wishes for safety and warmth.
