Here are a few small cell phone snapshots from the past couple of weeks…
We finally got around to making our Christmas cookies. Baking together always makes the season feel cozier and more festive.

My youngest daughter made homemade granola using her sister’s recipe. It turned out delicious—perfect for chilly mornings.

We’ve been spending evenings by the fire. These are our decorative Christmas stocking holders—ready for stockings when the time comes.

There’s been a lot of relaxation: sleeping in, lounging around, and enjoying slow mornings together.

We held our yearly Awkward Family Photo and ugly Christmas sweater party at church. Everyone comes in their most outrageous holiday attire and we set up a little photo backdrop—always a fun tradition.

We are making more Mason jar candles filled with Epsom salts for our church’s Christmas Eve service. They’re simple, pretty, and make lovely gifts.

I brought my orange tree into the bathroom for the winter and it’s thriving by the skylight. The blossoms scent the bathroom and bedroom with a wonderful, delicate fragrance—one of those small seasonal pleasures.

I received a lovely Secret Santa gift and can’t wait to sit by the fire and leaf through it—perfect quiet-time reading for the season.

Blankets have been in heavy rotation. We’ve been cuddling up any chance we get since the weather has turned chilly.

Despite the crisp air, we’ve been enjoying daily walks. Sunny, brisk days make for refreshing outings with the dogs.

We’re also taking time to slow down and remember what the season is truly about.
Well, most of us are slowing down.
Merry Christmas to you all — I count you among my many blessings.
