In a recent post I mentioned that we now have three pleated lampshades in our new home. Today I’m sharing where to find them and why I love this look. Patterned pleated lampshades are an easy way to refresh older lamps and add a timeless, cottage-inspired touch to a room.
As we plan the details of our new kitchen and dining room and gradually add elements to the living room, bedroom and other spaces, the vision for the house is becoming clearer: a blend of English cottage charm with subtle coastal and Nantucket influences. Patterned pleated shades contribute to that classic cottage feel I’ve grown to love after living in several English Tudor-style homes over the years.
Many pleated patterned shades are priced at the higher end, but I expect more affordable options will appear as the style grows in popularity. If you’re budget-conscious, DIY tutorials are widely available and many people successfully create their own pleated shades using fabric, basic tools and step-by-step guides—an excellent way to achieve this look without the steep price tag.
