As I begin to shape the vision for this home, I’ve been thinking about color and how the pieces I already own might evolve to suit the space. I love the existing palette, but each house seems to respond to its own distinct hues that enhance mood and atmosphere. It’s fun to explore which colors will feel right here.
Although pink isn’t usually central to my decorating, a pinkish coral tone has always been one of my favorites. I don’t have concrete plans to introduce pink in large amounts right now, but that doesn’t mean it won’t appear. Fresh pink tulips, peonies, or small accents can bring warmth and cheer without overwhelming the room. My husband isn’t keen on pink, so I prefer to use it sparingly and thoughtfully.
My decorating choices are still evolving, and I’m actually planning to introduce one unexpected color in this house for one of the first times — not pink. I enjoy decorating and consider it part of how my style grows: I pay attention to what inspires me each season and make subtle shifts to keep the look fresh.
Since it’s February and Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, I thought it would be fun to share some pink decorating inspiration today. Below are photos that show different ways to use pale pink, coral, and blush—sometimes as a focal point, sometimes as a soft accent that warms a neutral scheme.
Enjoy, and happy February!
