WAfter more than 30 years of raising our wonderful children, we’re finally becoming empty nesters—really this time. It marks the end of an era and the beginning of something new and exciting for our family.
Last week my husband and I made a major life decision that will dramatically shape our empty nester years. We’re thrilled—this is something we’ve hoped and prayed for, and now it’s happening. I still pinch myself. It may seem unexpected to some, but it’s been a long-held hope and we’ve waited patiently for clarity.
Truly, it feels like a dream coming true in so many ways.
Until this past week the exact what, how, when—or even if—weren’t clear. Finally having answers feels incredible. More than that, we can now picture our dream with clarity. It’s better than I imagined, and I’m deeply grateful.
Of course it’s bittersweet: this choice closes other doors, at least for now. Change rarely feels perfect in every way. Still, knowing we’re following the path meant for us and seeing the pieces align brings a peaceful certainty. The bittersweetness here leans heavily toward sweet.
We’re navigating unexpected plot twists and don’t have every detail finalized, but we’ll move through this season with faith that it will all come together. This new chapter promises to be very good.
I didn’t mean for this to be a cliff-hanger teaser, but there’s a lot to tell. I’ll share more details in the coming days and weeks as more puzzle pieces fall into place—promise.
For now, I can say this:
This dream will be so much fun to share with you. Thank you to everyone who has followed our family over the years—your prayers and support mean the world. One season is ending, and I’m excited to begin what might be the most thrilling chapter we’ve shared yet.
