My Dog Ate My Camera Cord: Funny Excuses for Missing Photos

I’ve intended to write another blog post for a while now. Truly, I’ve been trying.

Life has been a little chaotic lately — unexpected emergencies, puppy mayhem, being out of state without my computer, juggling several large creative projects, and our church relaunching this week in our new building (I have photos on my camera that I can’t wait to share). On top of all that, my computer died and Jack chewed through my camera cord, so I’m feeling a bit off my usual blogging rhythm.

In the middle of the chaos I even forgot to host the Fall Nesting Party I usually schedule in early September. That was disappointing. I’ll set up a linky this Friday the 16th if you’d like to share your fall nesting posts. You can show a little seasonal decorating around the house or link to a past project — whatever fits your fall nesting ideas. Be here Friday the 16th for the party!

Because of the camera cord and computer trouble, I did a quick Drive By of downtown Charleston and Hilton Head that I can’t fully share until I replace the cord. For now, I’m posting from my husband’s computer, but it looks like I’ll need a new Mac soon. Farewell, old Mac. When it rains, it pours.

Still, I had a wonderful time in Hilton Head spending time with the other writers from (in)courage. We spent the weekend dreaming about the future and imagining what’s possible. I borrowed a few photos from friends for this post since I couldn’t access my own images.

DaySpring and the Hilton Head Island Chamber of Commerce hosted the (in)courage bloggers for a long weekend of planning, community-building, relaxation, and fun. Resort Rentals of Hilton Head Island provided beautiful beachfront accommodations, and DaySpring took excellent care of us. Special thanks to Jessica Gardo from the Hilton Head Island Chamber of Commerce for coordinating the trip and for being wonderful all weekend.

It was an incredible weekend, and I feel so grateful to have been part of it.

(in)courage and DaySpring are organizing an “in real life” beach-party-style (un)conference for bloggers and non-bloggers in 2012, and I hope you’ll consider joining. I’ll likely host a local meetup at our church building, so if you live nearby you can stop by and hang out with me and other community members. The event will include a webcast portion for those who can’t attend in person. It should be a lot of fun.

Thank you all for sticking with me through the recent setbacks. Despite everything, August was the biggest month yet in my four years with The Inspired Room, even with fewer posts than usual. I’m not sure how that happened, but maybe it means you prefer fewer posts and more reading — perhaps this broken computer and camera cord are a blessing in disguise! Ha.

Sending much love to you all. I’m happy autumn is here — I woke up to cool breezes through my window today. Don’t forget to link up a Fall Nesting post this Friday!

Frequently asked question in the comments: Doesn’t Jack have any dog toys or bones to play with?

Answer: Yes. But he prefers non-dog toys like paper, cords and feet.
