Can you believe Mother’s Day is only a couple of weeks away? What are your plans? My family loves making breakfast together, and we often host a holiday brunch. We had a family brunch on Easter and we’ll do another for Mother’s Day, though we happily enjoy brunch on ordinary days too.
We’ve been craving waffles, so last week I pulled the waffle maker out of the basement for a relaxed morning. The girls were over with no big agenda, so it was the perfect pre-Mother’s Day brunch.

Earlier that week we stopped into World Market to see what was new. Their blue-and-white linens and table settings immediately caught our attention. We filled our cart with favorites and had a wonderful time setting the table for brunch.

The mix of blues, whites and organic textures felt just right for our table and our home.
I absolutely love the dishes.

The bowls are the perfect size for many meals—this time we used them for yogurt bowls, but they’ll also be great for rice bowls with avocado, garbanzo beans and roasted vegetables.
The plates have a nice weight, which I appreciate. Their soft colors and subtle pattern make a lovely statement on the table.
The wood-handled silverware, woven napkin rings, cutting board and wooden centerpiece added an organic warmth that pairs beautifully with blue and white pieces.

We found a charming wood bowl at World Market to anchor the table. Faux succulents and plants made it easy to assemble a centerpiece that looks fresh without the worry of upkeep.

These patterned bowls are fun and practical—they come with tight plastic lids for microwaving or fridge storage.
I’m also loving the juice glasses; their weight and detailing make them favorites at our table.
The serving bowls are especially meaningful because they are handmade. They stood out as something extraordinary from the moment I saw them.

I also picked up new throw pillows for the banquette and two navy velvet pillows for the woven chairs. They add texture and comfort to the seating area.
We rearranged the dining area before Thanksgiving, moving the table near the window for a view of the backyard. The glass-doored cabinet, however, only fit on the shiplap wall, so it stayed there while the table sat by the window.

While we liked the cozy feel of the table under the window, I always envisioned it on the opposite side of the room. I also wanted the glass cabinet in the bedroom to create a library-like, cozy atmosphere.

Sometimes you hesitate to try a change because it feels unconventional, but I decided to trust my instincts. After measuring, the cabinet fit perfectly on the bedroom wall and it feels right there.

With the cabinet moved, we flipped the banquette and placed the table where I originally imagined. It’s satisfying when furniture settles into the best spot for the room.
I’ve also been thinking about rearranging the living room to find the right flow for the space.

We had a lovely family brunch this weekend and enjoyed setting a pretty table. We’ll host another brunch for Mother’s Day soon, and I hope this inspires you to do the same.
