Love Your Home Challenge — Week 2: Declutter and Refresh

Love the Home You Have - The Inspired Room Love Your Home Challenge

Hi friends! The first seven days of the Spring edition of The Love Your Home Challenge are complete and we’re ready for week two. You can follow along and share updates on your daily challenges on Instagram. I’ve loved seeing your progress and creativity!

Below are the next seven days of challenges—enjoy!

Week Two - Love Your Home Challenge - The Inspired Room

Day 8 – Pamper Yourself: Make part of today all about you. Pick one thing you’ve been wishing you had time for and do it. Take a bubble bath, paint your nails, enjoy a slow cup of coffee with a good book, or anything else that refreshes you. Small acts of self-care make home life feel more peaceful.

Day 9 – A Home Notebook: Create a simple home notebook, or refresh the one you already have. Use a three-ring binder with dividers and plastic sleeves, a bound notebook, or an electronic system on your phone. Organize it by room so you can store paint and fabric names, measurements and floor plans, lists of furniture or accessories you’re hunting for, garden notes, maintenance and warranty information, and inspiration photos. This makes projects and upkeep easier to manage.

Day 10 – Set a Spring Table: Ready your dining area for spring. Clear and clean the table if it’s been cluttered. Then create a simple centerpiece using a vase, tray, bowl, glass cloche, or cake stand as a base. Collect items from around the house or add a few fresh pieces—ceramic eggs, small bird or bunny figurines on moss, or a bouquet of tulips or daffodils—to bring a seasonal touch to the table.

Day 11 – Go Organic: Bring natural elements indoors. Plant seeds for a small kitchen herb garden, or gather organic pieces from outside like flowering branches, pretty stones, or interesting sticks to display in a vase. Even a bowl of fresh fruit or vegetables adds color and life. Natural elements create a calm, lived-in atmosphere and remind us of the changing seasons.

Day 12 – Note to Self: Choose encouraging words, quotes, or verses to post around your home. Print favorites or design your own and tuck them into drawers, lunch boxes, mirrors, or on the wall. Small reminders throughout your home can lift spirits and keep priorities in view.

Day 13 – Dress It Up: Make tonight’s dinner feel special by setting the table in advance. Clear clutter, lay out pretty linens and tableware, add votive candles, and play soft music. A little preparation creates a relaxed, celebratory atmosphere even on an ordinary evening.

Day 14 – Welcome Home: Give your front door or porch a simple spring refresh. Sweep and tidy the entry, then add a seasonal wreath, a pot of flowers, or a handmade banner to welcome yourself and guests. A cheerful entry makes coming home more inviting.
