Love this real board and batten from Newly Woodwards
completed as a Procrastinator Project!
I think her husband deserves “Husband of the Year.”
from The Inspired Room.
I just finished looking through every AFTER photo from the Procrastinator Party. Wow—that was so much fun! I hope I didn’t miss anyone. It felt like we were all neighbors checking in on each other while I was busy painting my own cabinet. That’s one of the things I love most about blog life.
One reader even launched a new blog called Welcome Home as her procrastinator project—how wonderful! If you have a moment, please stop by and congratulate her on finishing her project and starting a blog.

I adore this pillow idea from Bay Buttons…

If you think you can’t make dramatic progress in a week, take a look at this before-and-after from Leaving Footprints—these photos were taken just seven days apart!

From unfinished to finished—fantastic job!
You all did a great job, Procrastinators! Next party: January!
Ok, now…for the big SURPRISE!
I’ve been keeping a little secret because blogs are public: about 30 days ago we received THREE offers on our house in Portland. Not one, not two—three offers. After a very quiet summer, I’m delighted to share that as of yesterday, the house is sold.
We didn’t get as much as we hoped from the sale, but we didn’t lose our shirts either, and for that we’re grateful. I’m relieved it sold before the holidays. It feels a bit bittersweet to see our home and kitchen go to someone else, but I’m excited about our new life here in Washington and confident it will be okay.
If all goes as planned, as of Monday we will officially own the house we’re living in and can close this chapter. You know I’ll be reaching for the paint can as soon as the deed is recorded.
Thank you for all your prayers, support, comments, and encouragement during these long months. This year has been full of unknowns, stress, and hard work, and I could definitely use a vacation to recover. Still, I’m grateful to be on the other side and ready to move forward.
Get ready for many more projects and before-and-afters here at The Inspired Room—mostly on a zero budget. That should be interesting. I’ll be hunting blogland for inspiration, for sure!
It is a beautiful Friday—let’s share what made this week beautiful!
PS. Enjoy the Procrastinator Party AFTER photos and don’t forget to check my Tumblr from time to time; I add links and finds there occasionally.
