Inspiring Discoveries and a Big Surprise Revealed!

I just finished looking through every single AFTER photo from the Procrastinator Party. Wow — that was fun. I hope I didn’t miss anyone. It felt like we were all neighbors checking in on each other while I was busy painting my own cabinet. That sense of community is one of the things I love most about blogland.

One participant even launched a new blog called Welcome Home as her procrastinator project — how wonderful! If you have a moment, please stop by and congratulate her on finishing her project and starting a blog.

I adore this pillow idea from Bay Buttons.

If you think you can’t make big changes in a week, take a look at this before-and-after from Leaving Footprints — the photos were taken just one week apart.

From unfinished to finished — great job!

You ALL did a great job, Procrastinators! Next party: January.

Ok, now…for the big SURPRISE!

I’ve had to keep a little secret: about 30 days ago we received not one, not two, but THREE offers on our house in Portland. After a long summer of silence, I’m thrilled to report that as of yesterday the house is sold.

We didn’t make as much as we might have hoped, but we didn’t lose everything either, so we’re grateful. I’m relieved it sold before the holidays. Even though it felt bittersweet to know the house — and especially the kitchen — will belong to someone else, I’m excited for our new life here in Washington.

If all goes according to plan, as of Monday we will officially own the house we live in and can close this chapter of our lives. You can bet I’ll be breaking out a paint can as soon as the deed is recorded.

Thank you all for your prayers, support, comments, and encouragement through these long months. This year has been full of unknowns, stress, and hard work, and I definitely feel like I could use a recovery break. Still, I’m happy to be on the other side and ready to move forward.

Get ready for many more projects and before-and-afters here at The Inspired Room — mostly on a shoestring budget. I’ll be scouring blogland for inspiration and sharing what I find.

It IS a beautiful Friday — let’s share what made this week beautiful!

PS. Enjoy the Procrastinator Party after photos on The Inspired Room, and I also post links and finds on the blog’s Tumblr from time to time, so feel free to check that out.
