Inspired Holidays Day 3: Why I Love This Season

IIf you’ve been a reader of The Inspired Room for any length of time, you already know about my affair.

……………………{awkward silence.}……………………….

………………………………………………………………………..

You know—the love affair I have with this season.

Oh, THAT affair! Of COURSE!

It’s pretty obvious, isn’t it? I don’t even try to hide it.

This is the fourth year in a row I’ve done a multi-day series celebrating autumn. I’m thrilled to return to it again.

Wait—four years in a row?

So why am I so enamored with fall?

Why can’t I run a series in October on decorating with the color blue, or on 31 days of blogging tips? Both those ideas are fine, but for me they’d miss the point: autumn contains some of the best weeks of the year. No two falls are identical, so there’s always something new to discover.

Autumn is when I get my heart in the right place.

Keeping priorities in order matters, because The Inspired Room has never been about owning the latest trends or creating a perfectly styled showroom. It’s about building an authentic, warm, and meaningful home—from the inside out. A home inspired by what matters beneath the surface, not just what looks good on it.

Here is my little Autumn Manifesto:

Autumn isn’t defined by the temperature outside or merely by leaves changing color. It’s not simply a prelude to a long winter, nor is it only about pumpkins, crows, or black cats.

Autumn is a season to find contentment at home by paying attention to what we already have.

The simple daily rituals—homemaking, baking, nesting, decorating, and preparing for the winter holidays ahead—create a quiet peace with what is right in front of us.

That is why I love this season.

Autumn reminds me how to love the life and home I have.

This season is a gift I don’t want to miss.

What small fall nesting ritual could you enjoy today around your home?
