I believe your home should reflect who you are and support the life you want to live.
Even more important is designing a life that supports how you want to feel.
Intentionally shaping how you use your space is a practical way to boost both emotional and physical well-being. Small, consistent choices about your environment and daily routine add up to a healthier, more fulfilling life.
Consider how you want to feel on most days.
Do your everyday choices support those feelings and goals?

Do you want to feel frazzled, stressed, overwhelmed, tired, or run down?
Or would you prefer to feel peaceful, inspired, strong, accomplished, and joyful?
This year I’ve been taking a closer look at my daily habits—asking hard questions and taking action, even when it’s difficult.
Am I setting boundaries in my schedule so I have time to rest, recharge, and enjoy life?
Am I willing to say no to things (even good ones) that don’t align with my priorities or could harm my health?
Am I showing up for everyone else and neglecting my own care?
Asking the right questions is one thing; following through is another. It’s easy to know what we should do and still put it off. I struggled with that myself—I’ll share more of that story soon.
Today I want to share a simple self-care ritual that’s helped me slow down and take better care of myself.
I’ve always enjoyed turning the bathroom into a spa-like retreat, even though my current bath still has a vintage, 1950s look. But regular baths weren’t always a priority—until I made a conscious choice to change that.

When my naturopath suggested regular detox baths, especially when I felt run down, I committed to making them a weekly habit. We live surrounded by chemicals—in cosmetics, personal care items, and cleaning products—and our bodies benefit from practices that support natural detoxification.
A detox bath can help your body eliminate some of those toxins and also provides a chance to relax deeply. Make the bath an intentional pause: turn off devices, dim the lights, light a candle, and play soft music so you can genuinely unwind.

There are many variations of detox bath recipes. The most important thing is to use pure, high-quality ingredients—plain Epsom salts without additives, and pure essential oils without fillers. Many commercial bath products contain artificial fragrances, colors, or other additives that can be counterproductive, so avoid those.
To take a detox bath, fill the tub with water as hot as you safely tolerate and soak (keeping your head above water) for about 20 minutes. When you finish, wrap yourself in a warm robe and aim for a restful night’s sleep.
Simple Detox Bath Recipe:
2 cups of quality Epsom salts
1/2 cup baking soda
10–20 drops of a pure essential oil you enjoy (lavender or a calming blend are great choices)
Mix together and add to hot running water.
Drop the salts into the running water so they dissolve fully. Using a bath pillow can make the experience more comfortable. Take this time to focus on yourself—breathe, relax, and let the bath do its work.
Enjoy!
