AWe’re excited to share a progress update on our newly finished office and to show the after photos of the flooring installation. Adding a wall and door made the space quieter and cozier, and installing Mohawk Concertina laminate in Smokey Chestnut transformed the room. The look is warmer, more refined, and the matte finish brings out the floor’s rustic tones beautifully.

Although our furniture remains the same for now, the room already feels completely different. The new flooring has changed the atmosphere of our lower level, and this office now inspires us: we feel calmer, more creative, and better organized. Working in here is more enjoyable, and the improved aesthetic makes it feel like a proper, welcoming workspace.
The matte finish and warm, rustic tones of this flooring are especially appealing in person. The surface reflects light softly and adds a natural, grounded feeling to the space.
The flooring not only sets the visual tone but is also highly durable, which suits our busy household. It stands up well to daily wear and tear and offers flexibility for future use—whether this room remains an office or becomes a mudroom or bedroom someday. The color and texture help hide everyday dirt and scuffs, keeping the space looking lived-in and comfortable without constant upkeep.
