Holiday Gift Wrapping Station: Day 19 of Inspired Holidays

One of the things I miss most about my large, older home was having a dedicated craft room. I could step in and quickly find any craft or wrapping supply I needed. Since moving, storage has required more creativity. I haven’t perfected it yet, but I’ve found plenty of inspiration from images and solutions online that show how to maximize small spaces.

We often have more usable space than we think. A dedicated room is ideal, but it’s not necessary. Look for overlooked nooks, closets, behind doors, or spots under stairs and in hallways where supplies can be stored neatly. Even small spaces can hold rolls of wrapping paper, boxes of tissue, ribbon, and tape if you use the right organizers.

If you haven’t organized your wrapping supplies yet, now is a great time to plan where to store gift wrap, ribbon, tags, and tools. When supplies are accessible and organized, wrapping gifts becomes an enjoyable, efficient task instead of a frustrating hunt for a stuck roll of paper in a torn box under the bed.

Creating an organized wrapping area doesn’t require a large or expensive craft room. Often a little ingenuity and the right storage solutions are all that’s needed.

Ideas to consider:

A freestanding cabinet
An unused closet
A back-of-the-door rack
A pegboard in a hallway
A wall rack in a guest bedroom or rarely used room
A corner of the laundry room
Think about other small spaces in your home that could be repurposed.

It’s also a good season to collect interesting ribbons, tags, and decorative bits to use when wrapping gifts. I plan to share gift-wrapping posts with ideas and tutorials to spark creativity and make wrapping more fun.
