When I imagined a cozy, memorable Christmas kitchen for my new little grandbabies, I pictured a whimsical gingerbread house glowing on the counter.

We’ve made gingerbread houses as a family activity for years, and it’s always a delight. They rarely turn out perfect, but the memories we make together are what matter most.

I’m especially fond of this charming ceramic lighted gingerbread house. While we’ll continue our tradition of building DIY houses together, this special piece will have a permanent place in my holiday display.

Although our grandchildren Forrest and Lila are not yet a year old, I’m already excited to start Christmas traditions with them.
They may not remember their earliest holidays, but I can picture their yearly photos with the gingerbread house in Grammy’s kitchen. Each year we’ll set it out, sip hot chocolate, and enjoy cookies together.

I adore the festive Rifle Paper Nutcracker plates, matching mugs, serving tray, and mistletoe napkins. Like my daughters did with their grandmother and I did with my parents, we’ll dress up and attend the Nutcracker, then come home and tuck the little ones in with visions of sugar-plums dancing in their heads.
Happy Christmas memory making!
