My office in my last home
Right now the house feels a bit disorganized, almost like we’re moving in all over again. It isn’t that bad, but with furniture and boxes being hauled down the stairs and the basement turned into a temporary staging area, I’m definitely getting flashbacks of past moves.

The disorder is for a good reason, though. Aside from preparing the kitchen for a remodel, I decided to swap the office and guest room. Repurposing those spaces has triggered much of the recent chaos. Sometimes a little upheaval up front is the best way to create an organized, efficient result.
The new office location will suit my needs far better, and the switch also creates a dedicated guest room, so overall it feels like a win-win. I’ll share more design plans and progress updates for these rooms soon.

I’m focused on arranging the house to be as efficient as possible. Progress has felt slow at times, but I believe we’ll move faster on design updates and remodeling in this home than in past ones because we’re determined to get settled and organized quickly.
It will feel wonderful to be more on top of things. The sense of being settled and organized is something I miss most about my previous home.
I’m excited to watch this house come to life. Often the mental image—or the inspiration board—of the finished, organized space keeps me going through the mess. And I admit, I’m also motivated by the thought of all the pretty organizers I’ll use to corral belongings in each room.
Happy Friday!
