Come on in — there’s room for everyone in my kitchen. Pull up a stool, make yourself comfortable; we’re all friends here.
This is my first fall season in this kitchen, and I’ve been eagerly waiting to see how it feels during this time of year.
I tend to think about things like that—sometimes probably more than necessary.
Labor Day week always seems hectic for our household. Skipping Monday sounds like a treat until you realize the week somehow lost a day. I’ve had a bunch of deadlines lately, so I’m trying to hang on to every hour I can get.

My son went back to school today, so our household is settling into a fall routine. That first morning back is always a shock—no more sleeping in or long, lazy breakfasts. I also realized I should have shopped for lunches and quick breakfasts the night before. Thankfully, his school provides a welcome-back lunch on the first day; that felt like a small gift to tired parents.

Welcome to my kitchen. If you’re new here or missed the remodel posts, you can catch the reveal details on the original blog. This being our first fall here makes the season feel extra special.
I love fall. And I love kitchens.
We started the remodel around October last year and finished just after the New Year. Our first meal cooked in the new oven was on Christmas—small memories like that make a house feel like home.

Brass Faucet // Water Faucet // Farmhouse Sink // Runner // Wall Light // Refrigerator

Black Knobs // Cutting Board
When I designed this kitchen, I considered how it would feel in every season. I enjoy evolving our home throughout the year, but I’m not someone who constantly buys trendy seasonal accessories. Instead, I collect a few meaningful pieces I can use year-round or bring out for certain seasons.
We don’t put out real pumpkins until mid-October, but there are many subtle ways to nod to the season—textiles, warm tones, wooden utensils, and layered lighting make the space feel cozy without a lot of fuss.

Crock // Wood Spoons
I’ll share more soon about the beautiful wooden spoons I’ve collected and other lasting items I use to layer warmth into the kitchen each season.

I recently added a cozy fall runner to the kitchen. The colors are richer in person, and the forgiving pattern hides everyday messes—perfect for someone who cooks a lot. I’m already looking forward to changing runners with the seasons to refresh the space.
