Happy first day of fall! A few days ago I shared our cozy fall entry, and today I’m excited to show you the front porch—my 2022 fall edition. I added a few simple, welcoming touches that make coming home feel extra special.
I’ll also share the connected covered porch soon. We added a pretty blue rug out there and it’s become such a cozy spot. If you’d like to see more, be sure you’re subscribed to my free newsletter so you don’t miss updates and extras I sometimes only share there.

That vintage fisherman’s basket you may have seen inside the entry is now on the porch. I found it at an antique market and tucked two potted heather plants inside so they’re easy to remove for watering. I added a short length of white rope for a nautical feel and used brown twine to secure the basket to a cup hook on the door.
You can see a short video of our porch below.

I mixed several planters and pots for an eclectic look—some locally found, some from previous homes. A few resin planter baskets I bought over the summer are perfect for outdoor use. Some fall plants came in attractive nursery pots, so for now they’re staying in them until I decide whether to pot them up or plant into larger containers.

Our pups, Jack and Lily, were fascinated by the new plants and pumpkins. Jack has a habit of nibbling plants, so we place most of them out of his reach. He doesn’t go out front unsupervised, so the arrangement stays intact—and everyone stays safe.

If you look up, you’ll see a familiar lantern we brought from our previous home. I’ve enjoyed decorating it for each season, and it finally has a permanent spot here. I filled it with preserved moss and battery-operated candles for a warm, safe glow. We also placed candles in the upstairs windows for a cozy evening effect.

While out at a local market I found delicate Cinderella pumpkins in beautiful muted tones. Their soft colors were irresistible, so they joined the porch display.

Fun fact: we’ve now lived in this house through four seasons. This feels like our first full autumn here, since we moved in last year. I’m already looking forward to decorating the porch every season and making new memories here.
