DIY Gift Wrapping Station and Storage Ideas for Small Spaces

Creative Studios and Craft Room Inspiration

Who’s wrapping gifts this week? It’s much more enjoyable when your supplies are neat and accessible — pretty paper, ribbon and tags all within reach make the process faster and more fun. We use an old dresser as our wrapping station; it keeps everything organized and ready. Where do you keep your supplies?

Quick gift wrap storage tips:

  • Use a small rolling cart to store craft supplies and tools; a compact cart is handy and can move to wherever you need it.
  • Utilize the back of a door — an over-the-door hook, a garment bag, or a hanging wrap organizer can save floor space and keep rolls upright.
  • Corral wrapping paper rolls in a simple waste bin or tall container to keep them together and upright.
  • Repurpose a dresser. We converted an old entry dresser into a gift wrap station, storing paper, tissue, ribbon and tags in drawers so wrapping is quick and all supplies are in one place.

We made a short video showing how our gift wrap dresser is organized — watch for a visual tour and see the photos and ideas below for more inspiration.

If you need additional supplies, there are lots of coordinating tags, ribbons, wrapping paper, gift bags and boxes available to complement your organized station.
