AA room instantly feels fresher and more inviting when it has a plant. Even better: several plants. If you study photos of interiors you admire, you’ll often spot at least one plant in the scene. Designers commonly use faux plants—or a mix of real and faux—to achieve a lush, cohesive look without the upkeep that some spaces require.
Plants do more than decorate: they help a home feel lived-in and comfortable. I always suggest real plants where possible for their health benefits and natural beauty, but there are situations where faux greenery is a sensible choice. Faux plants are ideal for rooms with inconsistent light, busy households, or seasonal spaces that don’t get regular care.
Recently I added a few faux plants to our basement. The lower level gets good natural light, so real plants could thrive, but I sometimes forget to water them. Faux greenery solved that problem. I especially like an artificial potted jade and some mossy potted plants. They require almost no care, can be moved freely, and stay vibrant even if I neglect them. They instantly make the space look friendlier and more welcoming, which in turn makes me feel happier.

Jack likes them too. 😉
