Martha Stewart Decoupaged Easter Egg

I’ve always pictured myself as someone who should be able to create delicate, beautifully decorated Easter eggs like Martha Stewart. Her designs look effortless and elegant. She even provides a decoupage tutorial demonstrating her technique.

My attempt at a sheet music egg for spring.

This week I tried my hand at mod podging a sheet-music-covered egg for spring. It proved trickier than I expected: the paper wanted to stick to my fingers, which made it hard to position the music exactly where I wanted. The experience felt oddly familiar in a sticky sort of way, and reminded me I still have much to learn about working with delicate paper and adhesive.

Clearly my technique needs refinement, but I enjoyed the process and the result is charmingly imperfect.
