Day 20 of Inspired Holidays: Unplug and Read a Book

I often feel a little guilty after sharing so many “things to do” in this series. Even though it’s a blog and part of a 31-day project, it can start to feel overwhelming—both for me writing it and for you reading it. So today I’m pulling back a bit and offering a gentler suggestion: slow down and savor the season.

Autumn doesn’t have to be all about preparing for upcoming holidays. It can be a time to enjoy simple pleasures, to notice small details, and to make space for rest. That’s my inspiration for today: do something that helps you appreciate the moment.

Give yourself permission to step away from the to-do list. Turn off your computer if you can, and spend some time doing something that genuinely relaxes you.

What would be your ideal activity today?

Reading a book? Taking a nap? Puttingtering around the house?

If you’re thinking about reading this fall and winter, I’d love to hear your recommendations. Cozy fiction, memoirs, or practical home books all fit the season—share what you’re excited to read.
