As keepers of the home, many of us give endlessly for our families. We organize play areas for the kids, keep the laundry done, prepare nourishing meals, volunteer, clean, and host celebrations—often working around the clock. Amid all that care and responsibility, it’s important to remember your own value and worth.
Your happiness and contentment matter. You deserve a little corner of your home that belongs to you: a spot to breathe, to be reminded of what’s good, and to smile. Thank you so much, Melissa, for inviting me to share one of my favorite spots at Daisy Cottage—my office and its view into the living room.
I love spending time in this room. It’s where I blog, write, read, daydream, and visit other inspiring bloggers. It’s a little retreat where I can be myself and find inspiration in books, magazines, and the thoughtful tokens I’ve received from fellow bloggers and readers. This space is genuinely dear to me.
My wish for every homemaker is that they fill their home with colors and items that make their heart sing and, importantly, claim a personal spot just for themselves. Surround yourself with what inspires you—objects that affirm your identity and celebrate the unique person you are.
Homemakers give so much and are irreplaceable. Having a small room, corner, or shelf that belongs to you is not indulgent—it’s essential. That quiet place renews you and reminds you that you are special, both to your family and to the world.
