How to prepare a cozy, calm home for the holidays
Pour a steaming cup of tea, grab a pretty pen and notepad, and begin a seasonal brainstorm:
- What do you want Thanksgiving to feel like?
- What do you want Christmas to look like?
Taking a little time to imagine the season makes planning enjoyable and preparation effortless. When you plan with intention, the holidays feel peaceful rather than panicked.
To simplify the process, I shop many of my favorite cozy and seasonal pieces at Wayfair — everything from décor and textiles to tableware and small furnishings.

Cozy entry favorites: a demilune table (available in two finishes), a scalloped lampshade lamp with multiple size and color options, a charming bunny pitcher I use year‑round for seasonal styling, cane-and-wood lidded boxes that add texture and storage, and a pretty floral rug to tie the space together.
I love how warm this lamp looks when it’s lit. I liked it so much I purchased variations for different rooms — a larger white version for the entry and smaller options in cobalt and white for other spots. A simple lamp can instantly make a corner feel inviting.
I’m already dreaming about holiday tablescapes. I can’t wait to bring out the darling tree dessert plates again — they instantly make sweets feel festive and special.
I also have the matching mugs, which make a cozy set for serving hot drinks during chilly gatherings.
This blue-and-white nativity scene was love at first sight. It sits in our home as a gentle reminder of the season’s meaning and feels especially meaningful during quiet moments.
I adore this knit checkered stocking — it has a sweet, homespun look and is also available in red for a classic touch.
Layering pillows is an easy way to refresh a room for the holidays. A plaid pillow adds pattern and warmth, and the wool hooked bunny pillow (returning to stock soon) is a cozy seasonal accent you can request a restock notification for.
