Welcome to our home! I’m so glad you could stop by during this busy season. Come on in and make yourself comfortable.
We made a short Christmas video tour of our home—feel free to watch now or later. Click to open YouTube and view full screen!
If you’re new here or haven’t visited in a while, welcome. We moved into this little brick house in Seattle a little over two years ago, and it has become our cozy retreat. Our backyard looks out over Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains, giving us a mix of city convenience and quiet, scenic views of sunsets and snowcapped peaks.

Kitchen Remodel Details / Small Tree – Balsam Hill / Wreath & Dish Towel – Birch Lane
We remodeled the kitchen and tackled a few other projects this year, so this is the first holiday season we’ve felt truly settled here. We still have plans for more updates, but for now we’re enjoying the home as it is and staying cozy for winter.

I like to make our home feel a bit magical at Christmas by focusing on the things that matter most—faith, family, our pups, and the traditions that create memories. To set the mood I add greenery, a few small trees, soft textures, twinkling lights, and a few whimsical ornaments and keepsakes throughout the house.

Repurposed Log Holder
Life can get hectic, and it’s tempting to skip traditions or skip decorating entirely to slow down. For our family, however, bringing out a few cherished items that spark stories and memories is part of what makes the season comforting and meaningful.

All non-Christmas kitchen remodel sources are listed in the original post.

Mug Holder

Yes, we have two Dutch doors in our home—I couldn’t stop at one. Details on them are available in the original source. The boxwood wreath and tree doormat are from Birch Lane.

Lights – Barn Light Electric
This is our front entry hall. I used a boxwood garland and a few simple accents to keep it welcoming. Some of the small decorative elements have been in my collection for years and still look fresh.

Galvanized Wall Hooks

Some botanical prints and a small bench dressed with a winter scarf bring warmth to the space. When a piece is no longer available, I try to choose similar items that achieve the same cozy feel.
Framed Chalkboard / Zinc Card Holder

AWWW!

I’ve only wrapped two gifts so far (and one gift bag—do gift bags count?). There’s still time to finish, right?

Our tree is relaxed and reflects our home’s informal style. Even though our dogs sometimes dismantle the decorations and nibble ornaments, we still try to keep a few special pieces on the tree. This new little ornament is safely placed high up.

Woven Shades / Rattan Day Bed / Knit Blanket

Sectional: Interior Define 110″ Caitlin Chaise Sectional in Narwhal Mod Velvet

Pups in red flannel scarves always make me smile.

Galvanized metal houses – Birch Lane / Christmas houses and lamps

We keep a diffuser running with winter blends—right now our home smells like Christmas with a mix of festive oils. It’s one of those small comforts that makes the season feel complete.

White Velvet Stockings / Houses – Target / Footstool – Birch Lane

Tree and tree collar – Balsam Hill

Luke’s Bedroom
My son’s room is dressed up for the holidays with a small tree. I didn’t take photos of our master bedroom for this post, but I did add a couple of tabletop trees to make it cozy. I often leave soft white lights up through winter—the glow is so calming at night.
Tin Luminaries, Doormat & Wreath – Birch Lane
Before you go, I couldn’t resist sharing another photo of Jack. He always brings a smile to my face and reminds me that a little holiday cheer is best when shared loudly and joyfully.

I’m joining a small group of friends who are sharing virtual Christmas tours this week—stop by their homes for more seasonal inspiration and warm ideas.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!
