Reading the Christmas story and setting up the nativity scene has always been a cherished part of our family’s holiday traditions, right from the days when our children were tiny. My husband even made a cardboard nativity so the kids could play with it—those simple moments remain some of my favorite memories.
This year we passed our family’s nativity on to our daughter Courtney and her husband so they can continue this meaningful ritual in their home. Even as empty nesters, the tradition lives on in a new way, and that feels wonderful.
A thoughtful follower on Instagram sent me a link to a darling blue and white nativity set and I immediately fell for it. The design felt right for our new home—delicate, timeless, and full of charm. I’m especially smitten with the little camel and sheep; I’ve always been a sucker for cute animals.
This Christmas we’re honoring the season’s meaning and our family tradition by displaying this beautiful new nativity scene in the main room, where it can be enjoyed every day of the holiday season.
