Better Homes & Gardens Kitchen Ideas and Design Inspiration

The Inspired Room in Better Homes and Gardens

Happy Monday! The exciting news is that Better Homes & Gardens has published a feature on my kitchen. I haven’t spotted it on newsstands yet, but several readers have emailed to say their copies arrived in the mail. If you subscribe or shop locally, check your mailbox or store—it might already be there!

I did receive a few copies from the editor and was thrilled to see the magazine in person—thank you, BHG! It’s been so fun to hold the finished spread and share it with friends and family.

If you prefer a digital experience, the BHG app includes extras like additional photos and interviews. The digital edition links to bonus content where you can view more images and hear a short interview with me about the kitchen. I found listening to my own voice a little odd, but it’s a neat way to enjoy the feature and get some behind-the-scenes details.

Here I am in Better Homes & Gardens, standing in my kitchen and smiling while making a salad. It might look staged, but the magazine team wanted authentic, lived-in images that reflect how we actually use our kitchen. The photographer and I talked at length about everyday activities in the space, and since salads are a regular part of our meals, that’s what we chose to show. Trying to look natural while holding a bowl of salad was challenging and slightly amusing—I’ll leave celebrity poses to others and stick to creating content from behind the screen.

The whole photoshoot was a wonderful experience, and I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to share our home with readers.

Thank you to everyone who sent kind messages and celebrated this feature with me. If you missed my contribution to Better Homes & Gardens Style Spotters, I mentioned five simple projects from The Inspired Room that help you love the home you have.
