Bamboo Shades for Cozy Texture and Layered Warmth

We recently replaced the main floor window treatments with new bamboo shades. You may have spotted them in our kitchen reveal or on the Christmas mantel, but they were actually a fresh update. They were affordable and in stock, so I was happy to complete this small project before the holidays.

Our old blinds had served us well, but they were becoming worn and we wanted cordless options for safety, so we decided to replace all of them at once.

Adding bamboo shades was always part of the plan once the kitchen renovation was complete. While privacy wasn’t a major issue for us, I love the warmth and texture bamboo shades bring to a room. Over the past year I saved many styles and gathered samples while deciding on the right look, but I waited to order until the renovation was finished so everything would feel cohesive.

The kitchen renovation took longer than expected and stretched our budget, so we needed shades that were affordable and available quickly. We found options that fit our windows, were easy to install, and came in several colors. That made the decision simple and allowed us to finish before the holidays.

You can find the bamboo shades we ordered (ours are in russet).

We still plan to add a few more shades in other rooms eventually, but it feels great to check the main floor windows off our project list.
