Announcing My Final Book Release: What It Means and Why It Matters

Hi friends! Last night, sitting in this same chair, I sent the photos and manuscript for my 11th and what I’m calling my final book—for now—off to the publisher. It felt like a meaningful milestone and a moment to pause and reflect.

I officially began work on this book two years ago, though the contract dates back seven years, so completing it felt especially rewarding. Over the past 13 years of blogging and writing about the home, I’ve been deeply grateful for the encouragement and support from readers around the world. That community, along with the guidance of my agent Ruth, led to the incredible chance to create beautiful books alongside my daughters Courtney and Kylee and our team at Harvest House.

It feels like a lifetime ago that I dove into this book-writing adventure as a side project. I had no idea it would grow into something so meaningful. Looking back to my first book announcement is a fun reminder of how far this journey has come.

What started as a plan for eight books eventually expanded to eleven, with the addition of a coloring book, a journal, and another decorating title. We completed ten of those books over seven years. It has been an unexpected and wonderful journey, full of creative growth and meaningful connections.

You can find all of my books so far on my books page.

Today I plan to take a long winter nap, but I’m also beginning this new year filled with gratitude, a sense of accomplishment, and eager anticipation for what comes next. I’m excited to watch this final book come to life over the year ahead and to share it with you when the time comes.

Thank you for joining me on this adventure. Wishing you a happy new year, friends!
