A Wonderful Week: Highlights, Tips, and Moments to Remember

It was a busy, productive, and surprisingly lovely week at The Inspired Room — my little corner of life where projects and everyday chaos collide. I’m finally nearing the finish line on my office makeover. Just a few small pieces remain and I’ll call it complete. The space feels personal, energetic, and honestly makes me a little giddy. I can’t wait to invite you in and show more soon. In the collage you can spot a few of the new touches I’ve brought into the room.

One afternoon this week I managed to lock myself out of the house, which was frustrating and oddly memorable. I didn’t have my phone or any money (my phone was locked in my office), so I wandered the yard, pulled weeds, and eventually found myself playing in my tiny fairy garden. I’d been meaning to redo it for spring, and although I only had a few stray succulents to work with, it was satisfying to tweak and refresh it — a small start toward making it better.

On the community front, our church building has become a weekend gathering spot for local underage bands, which has been a delight. It’s rewarding to open the space and welcome neighbors to enjoy music and time together. In the lower level you’ll even find folks playing ping pong between sets. We’re still decorating and repairing the building on a tight budget, but it’s been fun and meaningful work. I’ll share more photos when I have them.

At home, Jack kept our days light and lively with his usual mischief. He’s a handful: this week he managed to chew through my debit card — not ideal, but memorable. To give him more room to run, we decided to fence the backyard, and the installation is nearly finished. We’re excited to watch him explore the yard freely this summer. The collage also reveals our landscaping needs — new-house growing pains — but for now the yard will be a safe, sunny place for Jack to play. He also enjoyed his creature comforts: lots of naps on his favorite ottoman and a thorough teeth-brushing session. Truly a dog’s life.

Hope you have a lovely weekend, friends!
