A Truly Lovely Week: Highlights, Photos, and Moments

It’s been a busy, sometimes chaotic, but ultimately delightful week at The Inspired Room headquarters—also known as my life. I’ve been steadily moving toward the finish line on my office makeover. Only a few small pieces remain and then I’ll call it complete. The room feels very personal and full of life; it nearly makes me giddy. I can’t wait to invite you all in to see it soon. You’ll notice a few more glimpses of the new additions in the collage.

This week also included one of those memorable mishaps: I got locked out of the house for an entire afternoon. I didn’t have my phone or my wallet (my phone was inside the office), so I wandered the yard, pulled weeds and did my best to pass the time. Eventually I decided to tend the tiny fairy garden I’ve been meaning to replant this spring. With only a few stray succulents available from the yard, I made some small tweaks and had fun refreshing it. It’s a modest start, but it felt good to do something creative while waiting.

On the community front, our church building has become an unofficial small concert venue for local bands on the weekends. It’s been gratifying to open the space and invite neighbors to enjoy music and fellowship. In the lower level you might spot folks playing ping pong—one of the simple pleasures that makes the place feel alive. We’re still decorating and repairing the building on a tight budget, so expect more photos as the space evolves.

And of course, Jack kept us laughing all week. He’s up to his usual mischief—chewing things he shouldn’t (including my debit card) and generally keeping life interesting. To help him burn off energy this summer, we finally fenced the backyard, and the project is nearly finished. We’re thrilled to let him run free and soak up the sun once it’s complete. The yard still needs landscaping—moving into a new house always brings those tasks—but at least Jack will have a safe space to play. He also enjoyed teeth brushing and many naps on his favorite ottoman. It truly is a dog’s life.

Hope you have a lovely weekend, friends!
