We’ve done what we can to bring the beauty and wonder of the season into our homes.
Now it’s time to slow down and savor what truly matters.
That’s easy to say, I know — not always easy to do.
Maybe this week you scrolled through perfectly styled holiday photos on Instagram and Pinterest and felt a little behind. Or perhaps you looked around your own home and felt overwhelmed by what still needed to be done.
Even if you made lists, checked them twice, and decorated every corner, there’s always more you could do.
So much more you might wish you had already finished.
Sigh—if only the laundry and dishes would pause while the tree is up, everything would feel more magical, right?
Take a deep breath. It’s okay. You are not alone.
Here’s a little secret: wanting to create a meaningful, beautiful space for our families is a good thing.
Your heart is in the right place. Let’s release unrealistic expectations and find joy in what we already have.
Repeat after me:
What we have is enough. It is a gift.
What I can give my family this season is enough.
What matters will get done; what doesn’t get done doesn’t define this season.
My home doesn’t have to be perfect to be a sanctuary for my family.
Soon these holiday moments and high expectations will be behind us. With only a few sleeps left before Christmas, let’s focus on the meaning of the season and on the people who matter most.
Give yourself grace. You’ve got this.
I’ll be with you in 2024. You’re invited to join A Year of Sanctuary inside HomeBody Gathering Place. We begin on January 5th with a fresh start—focus, purpose, and intention for your home.
You’ll have a simple, meaningful plan to make steady progress toward your home goals.
Step by step and season by season, we’ll transform our homes into the sanctuaries we want them to be.
I guide and encourage members each week in HomeBody Gathering Place so we learn and make progress together.
Reserve your spot now and give yourself permission to relax and enjoy the rest of this season.
