Mason Jars

It doesn’t get much simpler than this. I favor easy, quick decorating ideas that make an impact, and mason jars are one of my favorite go-to solutions. They work beautifully year-round and can be adapted for any season or event. For example, we lined the front walkway with lit jars last winter for guests, used them as centerpieces at my daughter’s summer wedding reception, and are now using them for warm, cozy fall accents.

One of the nicest things about this idea is how versatile it is. Fill the jars with Epsom salts to mimic snow or sand, or try candy corn for a playful autumn look. Other great fillers include coffee beans for a rustic aroma, shells for a beach theme, jelly beans or marbles for bright pops of color, or fresh cranberries for a holiday feel. Swap candle colors to coordinate with your palette or event—tea lights, votives, or pillar candles all work. With a few jars and simple materials, you can create charming displays for mantels, tables, walkways, or porches.
