Lights from Barn Light Electric
Hi friends! I often share little snapshots of life and home on Instagram, and since many of you don’t use that platform, I wanted to gather a few recent phone photos here. These are simple moments — the kind that keep me mindful and grateful for everyday blessings.
Phone photos have a casual charm. They capture small details and projects I’m working on and remind me to notice the beautiful, ordinary parts of life.

For the first time I ordered a full set of dishes. I’ve typically bought pretty salad plates but stuck to plain white dinner plates — frugal habits, I guess. I fell in love with a blue-and-white set and since we needed new dishes, it felt like the perfect match. I can’t wait to set a spring table with them.

My husband is a musician. We met when I was nineteen and at first I didn’t think he was my type. Then he wrote and played a song for me on Valentine’s Day, and we’ve been together ever since. Years later, our differences have become one of the things that make our life richer and sweeter.

These eggs are a favorite of ours; they made our Dutch Babies brunch taste especially delicious. The packaging is charming too. Fresh ingredients like these make a simple weekend meal feel special.

Life with dogs is full of laughter. Jack keeps us entertained every day.

I’ve been using a diffuser and essential oils in our home. If you’re curious about how they can fit into a routine, I’m happy to explain — they’ve helped my emotional and physical well-being over the winter. If you want more details, feel free to reach out.

Painters arrive this week to finish the window trim, and once that’s done I’ll share reveal photos of our kitchen. I’ll also be posting photos of our new downstairs flooring soon. It’s been fun to slowly bring these spaces together and I’m excited to show the progress.

I feel so fortunate to have two daughters who are not only wonderful but also my close friends. We meet weekly to catch up, often at a coffee shop. One daughter works with me full time and the other joins us one day a week; I love having them both around and hope to collaborate even more in the future.

Leo is growing fast — about the size of Lily now but a bit stockier. He still needs his puppy haircut soon. My daughter Kylee recently bought her first grown-up sofa and it looks so cozy; she’s slowly replacing her old pieces with things she loves.

We welcomed a new leaf on our fiddle leaf fig — not a baby, but exciting nonetheless. The plant is thriving and growing quickly.

Having four doodles around (some live with us regularly, others visit often) is a joyful, lively mix. Here Jack looks like he might take flight with those ears!
Book: Love the Home You Have
As our home transitions from renovation mode into a more settled phase, I’m relieved and happy. Projects are exciting, but once the big work winds down, life feels calmer and more enjoyable. We’re putting things away, decluttering, and taking time to appreciate what’s already done.

Like I said, dogs keep us on our toes and provide plenty of smiles.
