I have always been captivated by gardens—especially their entrances. An arbor or gate instantly gives a yard personality, creating an inviting threshold that makes you want to step through and discover what lies beyond. I admit I’m often tempted to peek into other people’s gardens when I spot a charming gate (guilty!).
Recently I moved a metal arbor to frame an arched garden gate on my side patio. The addition introduced a new texture and a bit more character, and I’m really pleased with how it looks. I pictured my climbing white roses covering it over the next few years, but to my delight jasmine began climbing it almost immediately.
Gates, fences, and arbors have been on my mind a lot. I’m thinking about updating the gate and fence at the front of my home, and my daughter Kylee is gathering inspiration for the new house she’s moving into soon. I thought you might enjoy a collection of ideas I’ve gathered for creating charming garden entrances.

I love how this house decorated their front arbor for fall—such a warm, welcoming touch.

One idea I love is lining a path with several arches to create a tunnel effect. Picture that lit at night with soft path lights—utterly magical.

I may add an arbor above the gate in my side yard someday—this roundup has me inspired to try it.
Wishing you a lovely weekend, friends.
