Cordless lamps are one of my favorite home essentials. They provide a soft, warm glow wherever you need light—without an outlet nearby or a cord dangling where it shouldn’t.
I use cordless lamps throughout our house: on the fireplace mantel, on the rattan cart in the kitchen, in the gift-wrap closet, on a bathroom counter, in our guest room, and even inside my coffee cabinet. Once you start using them, you’ll discover many more places they’re useful.
I own two cordless lamp styles and both have been practical, easy to charge, sturdy, and excellent value. Below I describe each style and show photos of them around my home.

1. Bronze / gold cordless lamps
These classic lamps are available as a single unit or as a set of two, and come with multiple shade colors and finish options. They’re simple, timeless, and easy to move wherever you need a little extra light.

2. Rattan-shade lamps with white base
These cordless lamps come with two interchangeable shades; I chose a set that included one white shade and one rattan shade. There are other finishes and shade styles available, including striped options. They’re also waterproof, so I use them on our covered porch as well.

I’ve written more about these outdoor-friendly lamps elsewhere on the site.

I recently added one of these lamps to my coffee cabinet to create a cozy spot for winter mornings—it’s a small detail that makes a noticeable difference.

These lamps offer selectable color temperatures: tap the top to turn them on and cycle between a warmer glow and a cooler, whiter light. Above is an example showing the cooler setting.

If you’re looking for easy solutions to brighten small or awkward spaces, cordless lamps are a versatile, attractive option. They’re portable, tidy, and can change the mood of a room in seconds.
