Behind the Scenes: Inside Our Creative Process and Workflows

The Inspired Room book photoshoot day

Thank you so much for the warm response to my book announcement. Your encouragement and enthusiasm have meant the world to me as this project comes together. It’s been an exciting, sometimes surreal journey, and I’m increasingly thrilled about the process. Right now the days are full of behind-the-scenes activity—photo shoots, editing, and design decisions—and life looks a little chaotic (as you can tell from the state of my kitchen after a shoot). Still, I’m very happy with how the books are shaping up. I’m turning in the first two titles by September 1st, so the next few weeks will be a whirlwind.

On Friday we received the cover art and some design elements for Love The Home You Have, and we absolutely love them. The look and feel are exactly the tone we hoped for. It was thrilling to get a first peek at the cover—it gives such a clear sense of the book’s personality, and I think you’ll love it too.

We’re also busy developing the second book, which is scheduled for release next spring. I wish I could share more details now, but for the moment we’ll stick with little sneak peeks and behind-the-scenes glimpses. Working on both books has been a lot of fun and very inspiring.

I’ll share more updates on house projects once we get the kitchen back in order—there’s always more to report after a photoshoot!

PS. If you missed recent projects, you can find our front door makeover, back deck transformation, and laundry room progress on the blog archives for quick reference.
