So the season is almost here — can you believe it? October is right around the corner, and that means it’s time for Fall Nesting. When I get into Fall Nesting mode, I go all in: new posts, fresh projects from around the house, and lots of cozy changes that welcome autumn into the home.

Q. What is Fall Nesting month?

A. Fall Nesting month is about embracing the season at home. It’s a focused effort to create cozy, comfortable spaces by eliminating clutter and adding meaningful, beautiful touches. The aim is to savor autumn at home — making rooms feel warm and inviting so we can really enjoy the season.

That’s wonderful — to celebrate, there will be a link-up starting Sunday night for anyone running a fall series during October. The general Fall Nesting series link-up will appear Sunday, September 30 at 7PM PST. Link up if your blog features a Fall & Home series. It can be a 31-day challenge or a shorter series — as long as it relates to home and fall, it’s a fit.

  • When does the Fall Nesting series start?
    The Inspired Room’s 5th annual Fall Nesting series begins Monday, October 1 and continues throughout the month.
  • What is the Fall Nesting series?
    During October I’ll share decorating ideas, organizing tips, entertaining suggestions, and seasonal projects — all focused on making home feel cozy for fall. Posts may vary in frequency, from several times a week to daily, so check back often for fresh inspiration and surprises.
  • When are the Fall Nesting parties?
    Every Tuesday in October I’ll host a themed link-up related to Fall Nesting, plus a general link-up for anyone running a Fall series. The general link-up goes live September 30 at 7PM PST. See the schedule below for weekly themes.
  • How do I participate?
    Write a post on your blog, then add it to the week’s link-up. Link-ups go live the night before at 7PM PST to give everyone across the country time to add links. If the time difference makes it difficult for you, send your link and it can be added manually.

Write a post about 20 things you love about fall — a list, collage, or photo collection. These kinds of posts help us focus on the small joys of the season and remind us what to savor.

Tuesday October 9 – Fall Around the House
Show us how you’re bringing fall into your home. If you haven’t started decorating yet, this is a gentle nudge. If you’re already finished, inspire the rest of us with your ideas.

Tuesday October 16 – Mantels & Porches
Share your mantel, shelf, front door, or porch decorated for fall. Whether newly styled or already complete, we’d love to see your seasonal touches.

Tuesday October 23 – Holiday Nesting
Holidays are approaching — share Halloween, Thanksgiving, or early holiday ideas. You don’t need to have everything up already; this is a chance to brainstorm parties, crafts, gifts, and decor for the season ahead.
