HHello Inspired Room readers! I’m Michaela, and I’m excited to share a few of my favorite pieces and ideas for creating warm, inviting fall tablescapes. I’m a big fan of Nate Berkus’s Target collection—his pieces always bring a polished, approachable look to entertaining. When asked to try some of his new fall entertaining items, I couldn’t wait to style them in my home.

I also had the pleasure of interviewing Nate about his new Target collection. You can read the full interview on my blog, where I talk with him about the inspiration and the pieces I used for these settings.

My recipe for entertaining success:

Entertaining and Styling Tips

How I put these tips into action

To add texture and interest to the table, I combined three different vases with a striped runner. Mixing shapes and heights gives the table a layered, collected look without feeling fussy.

For place settings I layered plates—starting with a dinner plate, adding a salad plate, and finishing with a patterned dessert plate. Layering plates instantly elevates the table, and choosing subtle patterns keeps the look fresh and versatile. The white base of these dishes pairs well with seasonal accents and metallics.

On the buffet I displayed a favorite dessert—my easy Cookie Brownie Cupcakes—so guests can help themselves. A casual buffet station encourages mingling and makes serving effortless.

I like arranging goblets or mugs on a tray to create cohesion and a lived-in feel. Nate’s mirrored tray from the collection is a favorite—it blends rustic warmth with elegant shine and anchors the buffet display.

Small personalized details add charm: I used a lion place card holder and handwritten signage to bring personality to the table. Those finishing touches are what make a setting feel curated and welcoming.

Fresh seasonal flowers and natural elements finish the look. I love incorporating branches, textured blooms, and muted fall tones—like the thistle branch I used—to add depth and seasonal flair. Gold accents throughout the collection lend warmth and a slightly glamorous touch without overpowering the overall relaxed vibe.
