Hello friends and Merry Christmas week to you!
With just one sleep until our family arrives, I wanted to share a quick peek at our bedroom refresh. I’ll post more details and photos after the holidays, but I couldn’t resist showing what we’ve done so far.
A few months back we considered repainting and debated colors and whether to add stripes. We finally chose a direction—and once we committed, we never looked back.

Over the past few weeks we’ve been busy painting stripes—one of the signature patterns we’ve used in several homes—swapping furniture between rooms, and hanging new curtains. The result is a cozy, refreshed bedroom that already feels completely at home.

In the evenings the lamp and window candles make the room feel warm and intimate, and during the day the space feels lighter and more cheerful—exactly what we hoped for.
We kept the same palette as our lower level, but applied the colors differently to suit this room. The only new elements are the paint and a couple of framed art prints, so the room felt familiar right away.

We used Classic Light Buff and Misty Air for the stripes and surrounding walls, creating a soft, layered look. The subtle contrast adds interest without overwhelming the calm, collected vibe we wanted.
Although we’re still making small adjustments and plan to paint a few furniture pieces after the holidays, this space has already become one of my favorites in the house. A couple of well-placed art prints and a rearranged rattan shelf made a big difference.

If you want to join me in a seasonal decorating project, I’m running a five-week winter workshop focused on creating a calm, cozy, and collected home. It’s a good opportunity to refresh your space and learn easy decorating steps.

This weekend, while most people were wrapping gifts and prepping for holiday gatherings, we got sidetracked—rearranging furniture and making a joyful mess. No regrets. Moving things around revealed better flow and made room for pieces I love, like the rattan shelf I found at a flea market years ago.

I’ll share more about our choices, styling, and next steps after the holidays. For now, since the garland is up and the room already feels cozy, I wanted to offer this little sneak peek for anyone checking in. Scroll down for more photos; I’ll reveal the full room early in the new year.
More soon.
If you’d like to start the year by making your home calmer and more beautiful, consider joining our January workshop. It’s a gentle way to make small, meaningful changes that add up.
Next up: my Christmas tour—stay tuned!
