Organize Your Baking Drawer in 5 Minutes with Items You Already Have

5 Minute Organizer: Organized Kitchen Baking Drawers

In January I set a goal to go room by room and improve the function and organization of my home. That included big changes like adding furniture or built-ins, but also the smaller details—hooks, drawer organization, and other everyday solutions.

It was an ambitious plan, but aiming high has kept me moving forward. I may not finish every single project I imagined, but I’m certainly farther along than when I started the year.

After living here for five years, I finally feel ready to focus on these finer details. I know how we use the house, where clutter collects, and why it happens. That understanding makes it easier to find practical fixes that change how we live in each space.

As I improve function, the house is becoming more peaceful and put together. Those small, intentional changes are making rooms feel calmer and more cohesive, and I’m enjoying the progress.

This phase is especially satisfying because improvements are visible quickly—much faster than the early years of bigger renovation work.

You may have noticed I’ve been adding functional furniture in a few spaces, like the gathering room and family room. A single new cabinet can transform how a room feels by adding both beauty and practical storage. I’ll share more on that in another post.

Today, though, I’m sharing a tiny five-minute makeover that made a big difference for me.

For years my kitchen baking drawer looked like the photo above—casually organized but not particularly lovely. It wasn’t a problem, just something I thought could be improved with very little effort.

One day it struck me that a little rearranging and repurposing of what I already had could make the drawer both prettier and more functional.

Take 5 minutes and organize your drawer using what you already have!

I didn’t buy anything new or build a complicated system. I simply thought creatively about what was already in the house. An old unused basket became a corral for random accessories. My cute measuring cups now hold muffin papers. A three-section serving dish that’s rarely used works perfectly as a sorter for measuring spoons. Simple swaps like that were all it took.

Now I smile every time I open the baking drawer. It took only a few minutes to add a bit of beauty to a space we use often, simply by repurposing items on hand. Quick projects like this keep me inspired and motivated.

Isn’t it satisfying to beautify one drawer and enjoy near-instant results?

Quick challenge: find one drawer to refresh this week and make it prettier than it was.
