Our Sectional: Custom Modular Sofas from Interior Define

WWhen we moved from our previous house, we decided to leave our old sectional for the new owners. It was a difficult choice because we loved that sofa, but since we were downsizing it simply wouldn’t fit in the new space. We hoped to replace it someday with something smaller in a similar fabric and color.

You may have noticed a glimpse of the new sofa in my flooring reveal, but today I want to share more photos and detail about our new sectional.

Last summer we found a perfect sectional with a chaise from Interior Define. It matched my vision exactly. The fabric is a performance velvet that feels incredibly soft and cozy. The color is a rich charcoal with a subtle blue undertone; at certain angles it catches the light and shows a gentle silvery sheen that brightens the deep velvet.

I didn’t pose the dogs in all these photos — they just love being part of every picture. Whenever I bring out the camera they’re there, especially Jack, who is very much a people dog. If you have pups, you probably understand: they want to be near their humans.

Back to the sectional. I love the piped edges and the slender, slightly sloped arms. This model is the Caitlin, part of the Everygirl Collection, and it’s also available as a standard sofa. It has a comfortable yet refined look, which is a balance I really appreciate.

The bench cushion is reversible and filled with high-resilience foam wrapped in down. The back cushions are softly filled with down, so it’s easy to sprawl out and relax no matter where you sit. Jack seems convinced the chaise is his personal ottoman and often claims that spot. For me, it’s perfect for stretching out and binge-watching a few shows.

The back pillows are easy to fluff and adjust for support, or they can be removed entirely if you want more room for a nap.

Jack makes a cameo in almost every shot.

One of the advantages of Interior Define is that their furniture is handcrafted and made-to-order, so you can customize size, fabric, cushion fill, or legs to suit your needs. They offer many options and are accommodating when you need a specific configuration.

Despite the high quality and customization, their prices can be more affordable than traditional showrooms because you order online. Their return policy is generous: you have 14 days for a full refund with free return shipping, or up to 365 days to return with a modest restocking fee, which makes trying a new piece lower risk.

I recommend ordering their complimentary fabric swatches to help you choose the right material and color for your space.

We really love having this cozy spot downstairs to gather, relax, and spend time with our pups.

Our sectional is the 110″ Caitlin Chaise Sectional. We chose the Mod Velvet in the Narwhal color with Oiled Walnut legs.
