Autumn Fashion: Cozy Looks to Love This Fall

I’ve been doing a bit more fall nesting around the house this week. I absolutely love this time of year.

Yesterday was a beautiful autumn day—crisp air with some sun. I tidied up a little, and while it didn’t transform my whole cleaning list, I did pack away some summer items and pull out more fall decor. Swapping textures and layers feels so satisfying at this time of year.

I’m craving warmer, softer textures everywhere—blankets, rugs, throws. Jack definitely agrees that cozy fabrics are the best. He’s so funny when he naps; his legs and ears flop in every direction. Just before I took that photo his feet were up on the wall. He’s growing fast—almost 30 pounds at four months.

Where was I? Right—I’m ready to say goodbye to summer, though I’d keep the sunny days. Cool air, changing leaves, and bright skies: that’s my ideal fall. Add a plush velvet couch by a fireplace and it’s perfection.

We’re only a few days away from the start of “31 Days: Inspired for the Holidays,” and I’m really excited. I’ve been collecting ideas and inspiration for the month, and I can’t wait to share them.

Hint: I’m planning a giveaway this weekend for some adorable plush pumpkins. They’re so squishable and seasonal—perfect for cozying up your space.

This is going to be a good month.

Tell me—am I the only one who starts dreaming about velvet couches when fall arrives? Around late September my mind flips a switch and visions of velvet pop into my head. I seem to have less patience for white slipcovers when the weather cools.

Now I’m picturing a rusty, cinnamon-colored velvet sofa. That would be heavenly.
