Introducing: The Inspired Room Community!
After receiving so many messages asking about a community space, I’m delighted to invite you to The Inspired Room Community on Facebook. When I asked recently whether you’d be interested in a private group for readers and kindred spirits, the answer was an enthusiastic yes—so here we are!
Let’s get started.
A few years ago my daughters and I launched a community blog called Home Love Stories where members shared their homes. We loved that era and many of you did too, so we decided to revive the community spirit—this time on Facebook, which should be easier for most people to follow and participate in.
We hope you’ll join us and help shape a warm, encouraging space to connect.

For the past 12 years of blogging I’ve been amazed at how the internet can bring like-minded people together and create meaningful connections. Over the years you’ve encouraged me so much—women at home, on phones or computers, who might never meet otherwise—sharing ideas, support, and friendship. It’s been such a gift.
As online life evolves, that feeling of community can be harder to find. This Facebook group aims to restore that closeness in a smaller, friendlier setting. The platform makes it easy to get to know one another—and for me to get to know YOU better.
For the last few years I’ve also led a private group for the Dwell Well Collective (my Young Living members), and that community has brought many wonderful friendships. My girls and I participate actively in our home and wellness education group and support a team of women entrepreneurs there. It’s been a very positive experience.
Our new group, The Inspired Room Community, is free and open to readers. To join, please subscribe to the blog/newsletter and confirm your subscription—this helps us make sure members are part of our community. When you request to join the Facebook group you will be asked a few questions; please answer them so we can approve you.
If you aren’t yet subscribed, use the newsletter form on the blog or the sidebar and confirm the subscription in the email you receive. You’ll then get blog updates and occasional newsletters from me.
Once you’re subscribed and have confirmed via email, request to join The Inspired Room Community on Facebook and answer the group’s entry questions so we can approve you.
This exclusive community is for readers of The Inspired Room. It’s a place to share home photos, swap ideas, ask questions, and encourage one another. Let’s create a welcoming space where we inspire each other to make homes we love to come back to—come make yourself at home!
The Inspired Room Community
The group is community-led, which means conversations and posts will reflect what members choose to share—as long as they relate to home life and align with the spirit of The Inspired Room.
I won’t be posting regular design advice there because I’m still actively blogging, writing a new book, and managing other accounts and groups. That said, my daughters and I will be present and we’ll join conversations when we can. We’re excited to meet you and learn from this community together.
The Inspired Room Community will be a place to be authentic. It’s a space where you can share photos of your home, ask home-related questions, and exchange ideas with kindness and respect.
You can show seasonal decorating ideas, favorite corners, daily routines, remodeling progress, and comforting rituals. Ask decorating questions and receive thoughtful, encouraging feedback. This is a positive community—rudeness and promotions are not allowed, and anyone being unkind will be removed.
Please don’t stop commenting on the blog—I read all of your comments and appreciate your support. Remember that blog comments are entered into Surprise Box giveaways, so keep the conversation going here as well as in the group.
The community is free. The requirements are simple: be familiar with The Inspired Room, subscribe to the newsletter or blog posts, and be a pleasant, respectful person.
