Few decorative touches make a home feel as warm and welcoming as a seasonal wreath hanging on the front door. Even if you don’t change anything else, a wreath can instantly signal the season and create a lovely first impression. It’s a simple statement that can set the tone for your entire home.
Hanging a wreath often makes me feel more organized and put together. It’s a small ritual that feels comforting—do you feel the same?

I’m absolutely in love with my new autumn wreath—it makes me smile every time I see it. While mine is from a specific maker and may not be available, there are many beautiful fall and winter wreaths to choose from that capture the same cozy feeling.
If you’re wondering how to hang a wreath on a door without causing damage—even on doors with glass—it’s easier than you might think. Every door is different, so you may find another method that works better for you, but here’s a simple, damage-free approach I use.

I don’t use an over-the-door hanger. Instead, I use a flat thumbtack—the kind you would use on a corkboard—and a length of string. Clear fishing line works well if you want the hanging method to be less visible, but plain twine or string is perfectly fine and looks charming with rustic wreaths.
To hide the fastener, I press the flat tack into the very top edge of the door so it’s not visible when the door is closed. Then I loop the string or wire around the tack and tie it to the wreath. The tack supports the weight discreetly and the wreath hangs neatly without harming the door’s finish. It’s quick, simple, and effective.
