Refreshing Color Scheme and Theme Ideas for My Son’s Baby Nursery

Fresh and Fun Colors for a Baby Nursery!

You know what I find a little sad sometimes? I remember so many projects and favorite moments from before I started blogging that I never shared. Bedrooms, bathrooms, living rooms, dining rooms, kitchens, gardens and flagstone paths — we’ve tackled so much over the years, and a lot of it never made it onto the blog.

That’s one of the things I love about blogging now: we can open our homes and share projects like neighbors chatting over the fence. It’s wonderful to connect, swap ideas and stay in touch as life unfolds. The ability to share what we’re doing and what we love makes this community special.

Speaking of past projects, I recently had the chance to write about a room that’s very close to my heart. I don’t have polished blogger-reveal photos or step-by-step shots, but I was thrilled to share my son Luke’s nursery on My Colortopia. He’s almost 12 now and we’ve long since moved from that house, but creating his nursery was a joyful project. He was a very wanted little boy, and he still melts my heart.

I’m glad for the chance to offer a little blast from the past. I might start digging out those grainy, blurry pre-blog photos more often — it’s fun to revisit projects from before the camera and the perfect lighting were priorities. Those early rooms were created with as much love as anything I design today.

Even without the right photography gear or styled shoots, I enjoyed making our home comfortable and beautiful back then just as much as I do now. The process of designing and personalizing a space hasn’t changed, only the way I document it.

Come take a look at the theme I created for my son’s nursery and see a photo of my little guy over at My Colortopia. You can leave comments there or ask questions about your own baby nursery ideas.

PS. I’ve been working on some exciting updates for The Inspired Room that I’ll be sharing in the coming days. I love blogging and watching this space grow and evolve — I’ve been reorganizing behind the scenes so I can share more of what I love. Stay tuned for more!
