I’ve been searching for a charming freestanding bench, sofa, or banquette to tuck beneath the window next to my dining table. Ideally I’d find the perfect piece that can be delivered this week — when I get an idea in my head I tend to get impatient!
In reality the right fit might need to be custom to match the window width and table height, but I’m keeping my eyes open for something ready-made. The benches, settees, and sofas I’ve tried alongside dining tables before often have seats that sit too low or backs that are too sloped to sit neatly against the wall. It’s not always easy to find just the right piece.
Still, I found several promising options online to share. Even if none of these work for my exact space, they may give you ideas if you’re shopping for a similar solution. Many of the choices come in multiple colors or sizes, which makes them easier to adapt. A couple of the options I liked also include storage underneath the bench, which is a handy bonus.
